Grenade lobbed at Kashmir police station, 1 civilian killed, 5 others injured
NEW DELHI: Suspected militants on Sunday evening lobbed a grenade at Khanyar police station in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing one person and injuring five others, including state police personnel, police said.
“Militants hurled a powerful hand grenade at the police station in Khanyar this evening.
One civilian was killed and five others have sustained injuries,” a senior police officer said, adding, “all injured have been taken to the SHMS hospital for treatment”.
“Soon after the incident, forces rushed to the spot to carry out search operation,” he said.
