GRP Jammu recovered stolen Jewellery worth lakhs of rupees

Railway PoliceJammu: On 21/01/2016 a report was lodged  at P/S GRP Jammu by one Nishi Khurana W/O Sh. VikramKhurana R/O H.No. 176 Sect. 48-Noida (UP)  to the effect that her bag containing jewellery and other valuables worth 22/23 lakhs of amount  were stolen while  travelling in the AC Special Sarai Rohila. Subsequently on the directions of Sh. Suram Singh, SP Railways Jammu, FIR No. 1/2016 u/s 379 RPC  was lodged at P/S GRP Jammu.

Reportedly the said complainant departed from Delhi on 20.01.2015 by AC Special Sarai Rohila to visit her parents at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. During investigation P/S GRP Jammu dispatched different teams to different suspected areas and  various suspects from certain areas were interrogated and  CCTV footage was closely monitored. The  railway authorities were communicated to get the details of the passengers   who travelled in the said train and  the PNR Nos of the said train of same date, were also studied. With the  help of railway department  & modern techniques the details of the suspects from the state and outside the State were got and ultimately the doubt went towards   the person who was the actual accused .

The  accused was identified as   Sh. Subhan Ali S/O Abdul Rehman R/O Village TharaikhanaDistt. Coochbehar (WB) who was travelling in the same train in which the theft took place.  With the swift action and strenuous efforts of GRP Jammu the clue was got, the team of the GRP Jammu which included I.O, Sh. Bishan Singh, SHO P/S GRP Jammu, Sh. NeerajChoudhary, Sh. Davinder Singh, SDPO Railways Jammu under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Railways Jammu, Sh. Suram Singh swung into action and ultimately the accused finds no way other than to get the said  jewelry recovered  alongwith cash of Rs. 15,000/ which stands identified by complainant.

The complainant and her family members lauded the role of GRP Jammu for solving the such blind case of theft of the cost of more than  22 lacs for ensuring 100% recovery  of jewelleryalongwith stolen cash of Rs. 15,000/- in such short span of time and handling the same in such professional manner.
