Gunfight erupts in Kashmir


Srinagar, March 28: A gunfight erupted on Tuesday between militants and security forces in Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said.

As soon as the security forces cordoned off Durbugh village following information about the presence of the militants holed-up in a house, they were fired at, triggering the fighting.

“Initial reports said one or two militants were hiding,” the police added.

Youth Stone CRPF Convoy Headed To Encounter Site In Chadoora
Youth on Tuesday morning hurled stones  at a CRPF convoy heading towards the encounter site in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Witnesses said that the convoy came under a barrage of rocks in Nagam village, barely three kilometers from the site of the encounter.
Meanwhile, an intermittent exchange of fire is going on in Durbugh village where a gunfight erupted at around 6 am today.
