UDHAMPUR: Minister of State for Finance and IT, Mr Pawan Kumar Gupta, today dedicated to the public, the Community Hall and compound wall at village Balliyan in Udhampur.
The community hall has been constructed by 123 Infantry Battallian (TA) Grenadiers under Operation Sadhbhawna at a cost Rs 8 Lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the commendable work of the Army under operation Sadhbhawna wherein substantial public assets are being created for the general masses. He said the work being done under operation Sadhbhawna has proved very useful in bridging the gap between Army and the people.
Mr Gupta conveyed his special thanks to GOC Northern Command, Lt Gen, D. S. Hudda and 71 Subaarea Commander GOC, Major General, Anil Pratap Rai for their tireless efforts for ensuring liberal funding for undertaking the projects of public utilities. He also appreciated the tremendous role of the Army in combating militancy in the state during the past over two decades.
Mr Gupta also greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Janamashtami and celebrations of 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo-Pak war.
Among others, Col G S Chudwal, Sarpanch, social worker and people of the area were also present on the occasion.
