It is a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir that the J&K’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was called at the attack site in Punjab’s border town Dinanagar, where unidentified gunmen in army fatigues had opened fire. After a fierce battle, the encounter ended at 5 pm in the evening with all the militants dead.
The SWAT team reached the site to help the local policemen with the encounter and did a commendable job after reaching Gurdaspur. The team joined the defence forces and Punjab police to assist the teams in the counter attacks.
As per Police, the mayhem began around 5 am where the attackers first targeted as roadside eatery and then took off in a car after killing a person sleeping near Dinanagar bypass and the battle carried on for 12 hours and four cops were killed in the fierce encounter.
