SRINAGAR: Deputy Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi has asked the Indian Oil Corporation authorities to facilitate establishment of a petrol pump at Dawar Gurez. He said a petrol pump at the said location shall help ease out the difficulty being faced by the commuters due to inadequate availability of the said fuel in the area.
This was stated by the Deputy Speaker in a meeting convened with regard to availability of petrol and diesel in Gurez constituency with the officers of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Revenue Departments and Indian Oil Corporation Limited here today.
Mr. Gurezi said a petrol pump in the tehsil will also help cater to an increasing number of tourists visiting Gurez valley. He said that stocking of petrol and diesel is also a must as the tehsil is cut off from the Kashmir valley during the winter months.
Deputy Speaker also took stock of essential commodities available in tehsil Gurez. It was informed in the meeting that 80 per cent stock of rice has been dumped for distribution to the consumers.
Mr. Gurezi instructed the concerned CAPD officers to ensure distribution of ration among the destitute under Anpurna Scheme and also to identify other deserving consumers.
Secretary CA&PD Mr. Sourab Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora Mr. Sajad Hussain, Director CA&PD Mr. A. R. War, senior officers of Indian Oil Corporation including SDM Jammu Mr. Hari Anupam, Manager RS Jammu, Mr. Anil Kumar and Deputy Manager LPGS, Jammu, Mr. Sunil Kumar were present in the meeting.
