Gurezi takes stock of developmental needs, people’s problems in Tehsil Gurez
GUREZ: Minister of State for Animal Sheep Husbandry, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various areas of Tehsil Gurez, including Kilshay, Budogam, Thathri, Check, Rufji, Gurjri and Budooaab villages and took stock of people’s problems, besides developmental needs.
The Minister also inspected various ongoing developmental works in these areas and asked the officers to work with dedication and complete the fixed targets well in time.
Several deputations met the Minister during his visit and apprised him about their individual and collective problems.
The main demands raised by the locals included repairs and renovation of lanes, drains and construction of protection bunds.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. Many issues were solved by the Minister on the spot by directing the concerned authorities to redress the problem immediately.
Mr. Gurezi announced that the Solar lanterns will be provided to the deserving families of Gajri villages within a week’s time.
Addressing a series of gatherings enroute, work carried by the present regime in the area has some elements, Mr. Gurezi said that the fact is that irrespective of political or other considerations a mass developmental programme is under implementation in Gurez inconsonance with the aspirations and needs of all areas of Gurez Sub Division.
The Minister said that the Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has taken various historical decisions, including the creation of administrative units to fast track development and extend governance to the doorsteps of the people living in far off areas.
He said that the government has strived hard to meet the commitments made by the Chief Minister with the people and maximum of these have been fulfilled. He said to overcome the problem of unemployment, the Government has launched innovative employment generating schemes including UMEED and SKEWPY which have to produced optimum results on the ground.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in the area, the Minister said that the construction work on various micro and macro welfare projects in apace and on completion of these schemes it would go a long way to help in improving the socio-economic conditions of the people living in these areas.
