Guru Teg Bahadur Balidan Diwas celebration organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad




JAMMU: About twenty schools of Jammu province participated in the “Bharat ko Jano” quiz competition organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad on Guru Teg Bahadur Balidan Divas. The function started with the lightening of the lamp and recitation of Vande Matram. Brig. Sucheit Singh was the Chief Guest and Dr Anil Kalia was the Guest of honour. State president Arun Sharma gave the welcome address and Dr. Santosh Gupta Presided over the function. The students of the school performed the shabad kirtan and Smt Balvinder Kour, a school teacher spoke on the life and scarifies of Guru Teg Bahadur. Students also gave poetry recitation on the ocassion of Guru Teg Bahadur Balidan Divas. In the  quiz competition, organised  for Junior category Modern Public School, Channi Himat, Dogra Hr Sec. School Shastri Nagar, Cooperative Public School stood Ist 2nd and 3rd positions respectively and in Senior Category Himat Learning Field, Cooperative Public School and Vidya Peeth Public School and Popular Model Academy Nanak Nagar, Jammu stood Ist, 2nd and 3rd Position respectively. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour appreciated and applauded the contribution of BVP in promoting the spirit of Nationalism among the students. The programme was conducted by Smt Amita Sharma , Sh ML Vaid, Smt Vanita Kohli, Smt Jyostna Sharma and Smt Sukriti. Vote of thanks given by Sh Vijay Sharma. The rules and regulations of quiz competition was told by Dr D.R Kotwal. Other prominent members present in the function were Dr. Subash Gupta, Sh SN Sharma, Sh RP Gandotra, Sh Ashok Gupta, Sh Ashok Khajuria and others. The function concluded with the recitation of National Anthem and all the participating teams were given mementoes and certificates along with the refreshments.
