Head Constable Ghulam Hassan Wagay who was killed among the two policemen in a militant attack in Court complex Pulwama belongs to Wohlutra village of Rafiabad Sopore .
Pall of gloom decended on the area as the news of death of Ghulam Hassan Wagay was received by people of the area this morning.
“He was the lone bread earner for the family. The loss of slain cop will devastate the family who were dependent on his earnings” said Muhammad Afzal, a local resident.
On Monday morning, Hassan had called his son, Tawseef, on the phone and told him that since he was not going to be at home on Eid, he should buy bakery and other stuff from the nearby town of Baramulla for the family.

“Papa, didn’t you tell me to get the best bakery items and confectionery for Eid from Baramulla tomorrow, how can I buy it now?” Sajad said wailing.
As his relatives tried to console him in a dimly-lit room of a single-storey house at Wohlutra village of Rafiabad, Sajad, an arts graduate and the eldest among three siblings, kept wailing.
“Tell me who should I call now, we are lost, what shall I do without you now,” Sajad, an arts graduate, wailed over the body of his 47-year-old father Ghulam Hassan Wagey, who was killed when militants attacked police guards at the Pulwama Court Complex, killing two policemen, and injuring another.
Wagey, the lone breadwinner of a family of six, was posted at Pulwama for the past one year as a Selection Grade Constable.
A pall of gloom descended on Gagal area of Lolab in Kupwara district as the body of slain cop Ghulam Rasool Lone reached his ancestral place here. Hundreds of mourners attended his funeral prayers before he was laid to rest. Lone along with another cop was killed in a militant attack in Pulwama district on Monday night.
Besides Sajad, Lone leaves behind two more sons, old-aged parents including paralyzed father, a wife and a disabled brother.
Lone is survived by his wife, Halima begum, two sons, Azhar Rasool, 12, Basit Rasool, 7, and a nine-year-old daughter, Misbah Rasool.

Large number of men and women gathered at the residence of deceased for where women and family members were seen wailing over the death of their loved ones.
Some people said that the deceased was a pious human being and would lead Friday prayers in local Mosque.
They said that the deceased Wagay was the only breadwinner of a family members of 10 including 3 children and old aged parents.
Father and a son of the deceased is handicapped and are bedridden.
Relatives and people of the area appeal government to provide some help to the family of the deceased by giving employment to one of the kin of the deceased.
He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard among sobs and tears.
“It’s very rare that we policemen visit our home during Eid or Diwali but this time these cops got to visit their homes on Eid but in body bags. Heart wrenching,” Baramulla SP Imtiyaz Hussain tweeted.
“Repeat of shameful lynching of DSP Ayub Pandit on his anniversary. Perpetrators worst enemies of Kashmir, its people, Islam. Stupid to think guns looted after killing humans will arm them enough to fight any successful war. Silence? @MirwaizKashmir,” People’s Democratic Party leader Naeem Akhtar tweeted.
