Chilly weather conditions prevail in the valley as the upper heights experienced fresh snowfall while plains were lashed by heavy rains resulting in a considerably cold weather.
A MET Department official said that the cold weather will continue during the next 24 hours in the region and the weather is expected to be dry from June 8 onwards. He added that the region is likely to experience rain during the next 24 hours.
Met spokesman said the minimum temperature witnessed further drop due to 11.2 mm rainfall during the night till 0830 hrs. Against yesterday’s 5.6 degree minimum temperature, it was 4.8 degrees, more than two notches below normal.
