Army helicopter crashes in Kashmir’s Bandipora, two pilots charred to death

Bandipora: Two people have been charred to death after an Army helicopter crashed in Saderkoot area of Bandipora on Wednesday evening, police said.

SHO Ajas Tariq Ahmed said the dead apparently include the pilot and a co-pilot.

He said that they were yet to identify the personnel as they have burned completely.

Witnesses said that the helicopter belonging to 13 RR was flying in the sky as per routine when it crashed near Laman forest in the area.
“Every evening the helicopter takes rounds above the area, apparently a security measure,” said a local who didn’t want to be named.
“There was a huge noise which was followed by smoke and flames,” he added.
Security officers both from local and army are on the spot to access the situation.
