Localities like Subhash Nagar and Sarwal are becoming dumping grounds for the locals, due to the constant ignorance of the concerned authorities. Every lane in these localities is an open ground to dump wastes of their homes. One can easily witness heaps of garbage and waste scattered for 100 to 200 meters at almost every corner of the area. Because of the nonavailability of any other option, people are forced to dump the waste right on the road. The employees appointed by JMC come up to pick the garbage later in the evening and the place keeps stinking the whole day irking the locals. The scattered heaps further block the drainage as well. With the garbage lying scattered on the road it also presents a pathetic view to the commuters passing by. JMC has issued instructions to not throw waste but has given no other option to the residents than dumping it all in open, outside their houses. It also becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes during summers. There is a dire need to install bins for the people to dump the waste and the people too, should be concerned about their surroundings.
