Heroin Smugglers caught with Half-a-kg Heroin in Kathua

Kathua :  In continuation drive against the drug menace, recent inputs received from different agencies about the desperation of infiltration of anti-national elements, a number of Nakka’s (Check Post’s) were established on all the infiltration routes as well as on National Highway.
Today at about 0530 hrs, Police party from Police Station Hiranagar while on routine checking of all types of vehicles, got hold of a motorcycle bearing registration No. Jk02BM 7880 Pulsar 200 cc that was on its way to Punjab from Jammu. When the police signaled the rider to stop for checking, he tried to escape after breaking the nakka, however, the Police officers were able to over power the rider and arrested both the men.
During their questioning, they disclosed their identities as Navjot Singh (26) S/o Amar Singh, R/o Indra Nagar, Miran Sahib, Swaran Singh, S/o Sukhwant Singh,  R/o Indra Nagar, Miran Sahib.
During personal checking / frisking one packed roll with grey color plastic tape weighing 500 gms (1/2kg) was spotted. It has been established that both the riders are Heroine smugglers and they are active since long time. This was their third consignment of contraband narcotic (heroine) that was being delivered to Punjab (Amritsar) based smugglers .
Arrest and recovery were made by SHO Police Station Hiranagar, Inspector Naveen Angral, under the supervision of SDPO Border, Dewaker Singh and over all supervision of SSP KATHUA Ms. Neeva Jain (IPS) .
On this instant case FIR NO.81/2016 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started
