Jammu, February 5 The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked the government to put into practice the order of taking screening test for Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers. This observation was made by Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar in response to a petition.
“You go by the judgment in letter and spirit as whatever is contained in the judgment and classify these degrees,” Justice Attar observed.
The Commissioner Secretary, Education Department was directed by the HC in May last year to make a committee for holding the screening test of the ReT teachers who have acquired degrees from ambiguous centres.
The court yesterday expressed apprehension over the protests by the ReT teachers on this issue and said that the teachers should approach the court if they have any grievances, protesting is not the way to tackle this issue . Moreover, it can have negative effect on the students.
The counsel representing the Education Department was directed to seek instructions regarding the screening test and adjourned the hearing for today.
