Hizbul Mujahideen, JeM top leadership eliminated in Kashmir


Chinar Corps Commander Lt General KJS Dhillon said that on Saturday the Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed’s (JeM) top leadership, other than one terrorist, has been eliminated from Kashmir Valley as of today.

Lt General KJS Dhillon said, “Today [Saturday] morning we got information of some Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists who were planning to do some act of terrorism on January 26 in Tral. So, today morning the operation was launched. The operation is still underway.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that JeM’s self-styled Kashmir chief Qari Yasir was among three militants killed in encounter in Tral in South Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, one jawan was injured in an encounter between security forces and JeM terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral.

The injured jawan was rushed to a nearby Army hospital.

Qari Yasir, the top Jaish commander, is a Pakistan-based terrorist. He was behind the killing of two members of the nomadic Gujjar community from a forested area in Pulwama district in August last year.

Abdul Qadeer Kohli of Rajauri district and Manzoor Ahmed of Khonmoh area of Srinagar were abducted by JeM terrorists from Dhok, a temporary shelter, from the forest area of Tral in Pulwama district on August 26, 2019.
