Update at 12:30 pm: Army has been deployed in the area around a school in Kunjwani after there were inputs of suspicious movement earlier today. An army cordon has been setup around the school. Parents of a student from the school told U4UVoice that the students have been asked to remain inside the premises.
Army Officials, however, confirmed that this is a routine drill that the Army is conducting with Special Operations Group maintaining that there were inputs of suspicious movement in the morning. “This is a routine drill for preparations that go into 15 August. There is nothing to worry,” said the official.
Jammu, August 12: Unconfirmed reports have been pouring in from Kunjwani of a possible militant attack on the Kunjwani-Narwal stretch. All traffic on the main highway and adjoining areas has been stopped at the moment.
Sources have not provided any clear information on any attack. An official on the condition of anonymity has said that this is just a mock drill since there have been intelligence inputs of attack around 15 August. The official also brought to notice the letter sent to SSP Jammu threatening an attack.
The official also said that almost all major locations in the city are being combed to prevent any eventuality.
