Husband beats wife in pretext of dowry in Bishnah
In a much publicized domestic violence case of Bishnah Aditi Welfare India Charitable Trust (AWICT) on Thursday called on Inspector General Police, Jammu Danesh Rana.
Led by its president Aditi Sharma a delegation of AWICT apprised IGP regarding the case of Suman Kumari wife of was Rakesh Kumar resident of Palli village of Bishnah, whose husband severely beaten her in pretext of dowry.
Aditi urged the IGP to immediately arrest accused Rakesh Kumar. She also asked the IGP to train women police officials to deal with grieved stricken victims at police station level so that women fearlessly come and share their grievances with police.
Taking swift action IGP Jammu telephonically directed SDPO concerned for immediately arrest the accused. He also assured the good conduct by police at police station level.
Earlier, Aditi and her team visited the village Palli and met the victim. They brought her back to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and admitted her at emergency ward for treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, Aditi lashed out at doctors for treating severely beaten women casually and discharged her even without giving first aid. Aditi appealed health Minister to take strong action against the doctors who are responsible for negligence in duty and treated injured woman.
