JAMMU: Reiterating that the people especially youth who are residing in the Rajouri and Poonch districts are the major stakeholder in every affairs of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) senior leader Advocate Vibodh Gupta today highlighted that the educated youth of twin border districts are capable enough to compete with any talent across the country and they must stop to be treated as a ‘neglected lot’ by any recruitment agency, organisation, autonomous body, selection board, authority etc.
After meeting a large number of deputations from twin districts which gathered at his residence in Jammu to highlight the present scenario which is prevailing in these districts in general and the present trends of recruitment in BGSBU in particular, Vibodh assured to the members that he will took up this matter with the authorities concerned and if need arises he would also took up the matter with the Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti who is happened to be the Chancellor of the University, as he was of the view that University was established to uplift the young people living in the districts.
Vibodh said that the educated youth in twin districts has ample talent as they are cracking IAS, IFS, KAS and other competitive exams at national and international level. These people have attained higher education by facing many hardships as previous governments were failed to provide even basic facilities, moreover, they are peace loving people who always remain firm with the national cause during wars, insurgencies and they also rejected the antinational forces ‘tooth and nail’, Gupta said and added that the educated talent of twin districts must be given priority in providing jobs and employment avenues and their ignorance would not be tolerated at any cost.
On getting information from the deputationists regarding the ignorance of people from Rajouri and Poonch districts in latest teaching recruitments of BGSBU in which the candidates from these districts who were working on these positions for last 3-7 years are intentionally being ignored, Vibodh said that being a State University and Chief Minister as its Chancellor the Varsity must adopt the State Recruitment Policy for regularlising these contractual/adhoc employees as the carrier of such employees is at stake, moreover these employees have dedicated their ‘golden period’ in the services of the University by facing many hardships.
He also stressed that instead of neglecting the people already working in the University, the authorities concerned must absorbed them and also give them a chance to pursue higher education in order to enhance their carrier as they are the real stakeholders of the region in general and of Varsity in particular.
