Jammu: Inspector General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir (IGP) Mr Rajesh Kumar-IPS presided over the meeting of all range DIG’s and District SSsP of Jammu Zone in Zonal Police Headquarters here today. Main focus of the crime meeting was also prevention and detection of crime.
Mr Kumar reviewed the crime, anti-militancy operation, general security scenario and discuss necessary steps to be taken to control the crime rate .
A thread bare discussion was held regarding disposal of pending crime cases especially cases of heinous crime. The preparedness of the Police for fair and free forthcoming Assembly Elections -2014 and the other law and order related arrangements were also discussed.
IGP reviewed the crime position and over-all functioning of each District with Range DIsG and District SPs. The disposal of cases registered during the current year and previous pendency was reviewed, discussed and instructions issued.
The IGP J&K complimented the officers for ensuring peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections 2014 in Jammu Zone , and congratulated them that despite all odds and difficult circumstances and continuous long duties, there was no Human Rights violation, collateral damage and any major militancy related incident .
