Jammu, May 25: The IGP Railways J&K, M. Sulaiman Salaria has asked the jawans to keep extra vigil, remain careful and maintain close co-operation with all sister agencies to ensure safety and security of the railway passengers, trains, track and other vital installations. He said while reviewing the security situation along the railway tracks with the officers.
During the meeting, Salaria alerted the jawans and emphasised upon them to keep extra vigil in view of the previous infiltration on the International borders and recent fidayeen attacks close to the railway track. He said that acts of sabotage and cross border terrorism at railway tracks cannot be ruled out. He lauded the jawans for remaining extra alert in their area of responsibility and for keeping an eagle eye at Railway tracks, railway stations and in running trains located parallel and in close proximity to the International Border.
IGP Railways J&K visited GRP Jurisdiction from PP GRP Bari Brahmna to Gagwal and Gagwal to Kathua in two phases for security review and held darbar of officers/jawans at Ghagwal and Kathua. The darbar was attended by the Jawans/Officers from Bari Brahmna to Gagwal at Gagwal and the darbar of jawans/officers from Gagwal to Kathua was held at Kathua.
The participants were briefed by Suram Singh, SP Railways, Jammu, Pawan Kumar SDPO Railways Vijaypur and Davinder Singh, SDPO Railways Jammu also to the effect that there is need to remain extra vigilant and alert in their respective jurisdictions and necessary security related directions were issued to all for safety and security of both men and material at Railways Jammu. All the participants were stressed to perform their duties with zeal and zest and maintain better policing and be police with the general public and firm with govt. duties.
During the darbar, Suram Singh, SP Railways, Jammu, Pawan Kumar SDPO Railways Vijaypur, Davinder Singh, SDPO Railways Jammu alongwith jurisdictional NGOs and jawans of GRP Jammu. During the course of said Darbar at Gagwal and Kathua ample opportunity was provided to the Jawans / officers to put forth their problems.
