On the occasion of Independence Day, the State Government today ordered release of 28 convicted prisoners.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 34 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor is pleased to order that the remaining term of imprisonment on 28 prisoners shall be remitted with effect from 15 August 2016,” reads a notification issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
The prisoners whose term of imprisonment has been remitted include

9.Garu Ram, S/o Thoru Ram, R/o Khepar, R. S. Pora, Jammu,

15.Mohammad Toyaib S/o Mohammad Suleman R/o Goldh Tehsil Mendhar Poonch,
16.Joginder Lal S/o Jagga Ram R/o Chinore Bantalab Jammu,
17.Ravi Chand Kapai S/o Tara Chand R/o Qasim Nagar Gurah Bakshi Nagar Jammu,
18.Ajeet Singh @ Jeeta S/o Faiz Singh @ Faizu S/o Baldu Akhnoor Jammu,
