Indian Army soldier martyred in ceasefire violation by Pakistan along LoC


Poonch: Indian Army soldier has died of injuries he suffered when Pakistan violated ceasefire at the Line of Control on Friday morning.

The violation occurred in the Krishna Ghati sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district; the Army responded to Pakistan’s unprovoked firing and shelling.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in September that the Pakistan Army had violated ceasefire over 2,000 times in 2019 alone, killing 21 Indians.

The ministry said it had repeatedly called upon Pakistan to ask its forces to adhere to a 2003 ceasefire understanding and maintain peace and tranquility along the LoC and the international border.
