Jammu, Jan 21: True to its commitment, the Army has been providing a helping hand for Women Empowerment in J&K. To the forefront has been Delta Force, which has been striving towards the goal of providing the right impetus to the womenfolk of the region. In keeping tune with the National theme of Women Empowerment, Delta Force has taken the lead to carry out various vocational courses which will enable women of the area to earn their own living. In a similar effort organised by Delta Force in village Dharmund, local women from Dharmund, Rak Jharoke and Mainal villages turned up in huge numbers for the tailoring course being organized by Delta Force at Dharmund.
The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Rajni Rawat, Chairperson Family Welfare Organisation Delta Force. The tailoring course spanning over three months will be attended by 34 women from the villages. All equipment including tailoring machines, cloth and associated tools will be provided free of cost by Delta Force under Sadbhavana initiative. The programme will be helpful in generating additional income by the women of the house, thereby making them financially independent and self employed.
In an impressive inaugural ceremony held at Dharmund today, Mrs Rawat distributed the tailoring kit to the participants. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Rawat encouraged the ladies to come forward and participate with full zeal and enthusiasm. She emphasized that this initiative by Delta Force is aimed towards skill development and empowering local women to pursue an independent vocation to make them confident and independent individuals.
