Indian Flag ride begins. 150 students from 12 states to visit Srinagar

New Delhi, April 9:  Following the unrest at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Jammu and Kashmir, around 150 students today marked their journey from New Delhi to Srinagar with the Outstation students.
Students from 12 states assembled in Delhi for ‘Chalo NIT’ march. They later began their journey to Srinagar on bikes, cars and buses holding the National flags.
Mehbooba spoke to the Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani saying that, a handful of Non-Local students were in migrating to other colleges.
The Chief Minister has also appreciated the statement made by separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani who had asked locals to protect non-local students and ensure calm in the NIT.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh has said that the most of the demands of the students had been accepted and shifting of the NIT outside the Valley was out of the question.
