Indian troops kill 20 terrorist in special-ops in PoK: Report
Jammu, Sept 22: In a report published by the Quint today, it has been claimed that the two units of the elite 2 Paras comprising 18-20 soldiers flew across the LoC in the Uri sector in military helicopters and carried out an operation that killed at least 20 terrorists across three terror camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
However, the story has not been confirmed by armed forces and the government.
According to the report, the operation happened during the intervening night of 20 September and 21 September and the causalities could have been more than 200 instead of 20. But the army has denied carrying out any such operation.
The report further claims that the Pakistan’s national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), had cancelled flights to northern Pakistani cities, including to Gilgit and Skardu in PoK, due to “airspace restrictions”.
The Quint, after its report started getting quashed in the media circles, supposedly re-confirmed the report and then went on to put a disclaimer that it stands by the veracity of the report.
A report in TOI, however, rebuffed the report saying that its sources in the army have denied any such operation was ever carried out.
