Inter-college sysmposium held in GCW Parade


An inter college Symposium on Life and Contributions of Dr. Nelson Mandela, was organized in Govt. College for Women, Parade in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family J&K on the 96th birth anniversary of Dr. Mandela. Dr. Ram Vishawakarma, Director IIIM Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion.

Among other dignitories present were Padam Shri S.P. Verma, National Vice president Gandhi Global Family, Mr. R.L. Bharti, Former member PSC Jammu, Mr. Abdul Majid Malik, Er. V.K. Sawhney, Prof. Kalidas, Principal of the college Dr. Hemla Aggarwal and others. Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Nelson Mandela by the guests. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Prof.( Dr.) B.B. Anand formally welcomed the gathering and spoke on the Contributions of Dr. Nelson Mandela towards the society.

Padam Shri S.P. Verma also threw light on the life of Dr. Nelson Mandela and importance of his teachings in present day scenario. The Chief Guest Dr. Ram Vishawakarma in his speech said that Dr. Mandela is an inspiration for him in his life and he urged the students to follow his foot steps. Dr. R.L. Bharti who presided over the function also spoke on the occasion.

Students from various colleges participated in the symposium. Shivangi Sharma stood first, followed by Aditi Dubey who got IInd and Meenakshi Manhas got IIIrd prize respectively. Prof. Samriti Manchanda and Dr. Sandhya Bharadwaj adjudged the programme.

Vote of Thanks was presented by Mr. Abdul Majid Malik. The Programme was compered by Sonia Giri.
