International Terracotta Sculpture Symposium; Another feather in Sonu’s Cap

Jammu: Sonu Aggarwal, the very well known sculptor returned home from International Terracotta Sculpture Symposium held in Serbia. This daughter of the state has made everyone proud by drawing applaud in the symposium. Sonu was one among the other five artists who took part in the symposium from around the world.

Sonu made a sculpture called ‘Woman watching her landscape’. As a matter of fact, she completed the sculpture in just twenty days and came back home ten days before the conclusion of the event.

International terracotta sculpture symposium is oldest terracotta symposium of the world and every year five to eight artists from Serbia and other countries participate in this art event.

Before this event, Sonu Aggarwal has participated in 15 national and international solo exhibitions, workshops and symposiums

Besides, she is the only women sculptor of the State awarded with Commonwealth scholarships from UK for her creativity and  residency programme in South Africa. Other than J&K Academy Award, she has also won awards from Birla Academy, Kolkata and All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, New Delhi.
