Assures adequate financial assistance for improving infrastructure in the school

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09: Terming educational institutions and teaching fraternity as the fountainheads of prosperity and development, the Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri has said that educational institutions have pivotal role in reforming and shaping up the society.

Addressing at a function organized at Boys Higher Secondary School, Bijbehara in connection with celebration of Teachers Day on Wednesday, the Minister stressed upon the teachers to be knowledgeable and hardworking for achieving better results. He also asked them to adopt modern teaching techniques in order to impart quality education to the students.

Veeri emphasized on grooming children in a conducive academic environment so that they can be mould as best human resource.

The Minister said education is the most important tool for empowering the people of the State. He said the pursuit for knowledge has always been a part of the ethos of our State. “In a fast emerging knowledge based society, I call upon the children and youth of our State to study and acquire as much knowledge as possible for an enlightened future for themselves and the State”, Veeri said and added that increasing the accessibility of education and improving its quality will put the State on the firm road to peace and stability.

“The State Government in its sincere endeavor has started market-friendly and job-oriented courses in the educational institutions keeping in view the emerging need,” Veeri said.

The Minister handed-over appreciation certificates to the teachers for their laudable role in promoting educational activities in the institution.

Mr. Veeri assured the school management for development of infrastructure in the institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Member Parliament, Mr Nazir Ahmad Laway and Chief Coordinator PDP, Mr Sajad Mufti highlighted the role of teachers and said that teachers lay the foundation of the society and added that without good teachers no nation can progress.

The MP assured the school management for providing financial assistance for the development of better infrastructure in the institution.

Earlier, the Minister along with Member Parliament inspected the progress of renovation works at the school. The school is being developed as a model school and adopted by J&K Bank to carry out different works including smart classrooms, renovation of laboratory block, classrooms, sanitations points etc.
