Is Tasaduq Mufti silently entering J&K politics?


Srinagar, May 26:  After the death of his father, former CM of the state Mr. Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, Tasaduq Mufti is now making his way into the politics, albeit silently.

According to some highly placed sources, there may not have been any official announcement but Tasaduq is already in state politics. He handles important administrative issues, meets delegations and invites people to suggest him on matters related to state.

Tasaduq, a cinematographer by profession, made his first public appearance on Tuesday at the inauguration function of Zero-Bride with his sister and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti. He has been handling administrative issues forwarded to him by his friends related to Health sector and even makes officials accountable for negligence in dealing with public issues in time bound manner.

In two such cases recently forwarded to him, Tasaduq personally took to resolving the matters on his own. He called the concerned officials and sought time bound solution of issues from them to silence public hue and cry. He is keen on contributing towards the environmental issues of state and is meeting people in this regard to seek suggestions from them and frame a policy to save the dying water bodies in the region and also aims to preserve heritage sites.
His family and friends have been guiding him on matters concerning the government. As per the sources, he has met delegations of Trade, Apple industry, tourism sector, while they were with the CM Mehbooba Mufti. Tasaduq put forward suggestions and suitable measures and assured complete assistance from government.
Earlier after the demise of his father, Tasaduq met entrepreneurs during their meeting with Mehbooba Mufti. As per a report from a local daily, Tasaduq might be added to the state cabinet in the coming years. One section of PDP is even keen to contest vacant south Kashmir Lok Sabha seat with Tasaduq Mufti, however, there is an opposition on the view keeping in mind the tough competition. On the other hand, another senior lobby wants other senior leaders like Abdul Rehman Veeri or Sartaj Madni instead of Tasaduq to keep the seat.
