Jammu, Nov 30: A paramilitary trooper who was injured in a firing incident in Kathua district early this morning claims of being injured in a militant attack.It was a militant attack, says jawan injured during gunfight in Kathua

“It was about 5:15 am, when 2,3 unidentified gunmen started firing on the camp. They did around 400-500 rounds of firing”, said the injured jawan Ramesh Kumar (25).

Ramesh Kumar is the resident of Bihar and presently posted in the 121 Batallian of CRPF at Malhar Post (Billawar) in Kathua.

He added that they were around 10 troopers present in the post who also retaliated. The gunfight went on for near about half an hour in which Ramesh Kumar got injured. The bullet hit him in the left arm.

The jawan was badly hurt and shifted to Government Medical College, Bakshi Nagar for treatment through chopper. The doctors have removed his bullet and his condition is now stable

However, the senior officials has neither accepted nor denied the statement of injured Jawan. According to them, the CRPF is yet to find out whether it was a militant attack or an accidental firing.
