Srinagar, Dec 11: A special train for children ‘Vaadi Ki Sair’ was flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The Chief Minister also boarded the train at Quazigund station and travelled upto Baramula. On her return trip, Mufti deboarded the train at Srinagar.
A total of 610 children boarded the train from various stations of valley like; Banihal, Quazigund, Anantnag, Awantipur, Srinagar, Budgam, Sopore and Baramula and enjoyed the train ride along with their very own Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Mufti walked through the train, visited all the coached and interacted with the children, enjoying the trip. She also thanked the Indian Railways for all the arrangements that were made.
Indian Railways has managed to restore rail services in the valley and all the services have been restored. The services were affected after disruption of peace in state.
