J&K: Cable operator among 2 shot dead; killers identified


SRINAGAR: Terrorists on Sunday shot dead two persons, including a cable operator, in separate incidents in Shopian district of Kashmir, police said.
Gunmen shot at Hilal Ahmad Malik, a cable operator, near his residence at Malik Mohalla in Shopian at around 8.00 PM, a police official said.
He said Malik was taken to a hospital but succumbed on the way.
Meanwhile, Police has identified the terrorists who killed the cable network owner Hilal Ahmad Malik. They have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Turray, son of Bashir Ahmad Turray, resident of Bonbazar, Shopian and Umar Nazir Malik alias Khattab son of Nazir Ahmad Malik resident of Malikgund, Shopian.
Earlier, a bullet riddled body of a teenage boy was recovered from an orchard at Dhobipora in Shopian.
Gowhar Ahmad Dar, 17, was found dead in an orchard at around 12 noon, a police official said, adding, the deceased had been shot in the head.
There have been three killings in south Kashmir by unknown gunmen in the past 24 hours.
