J&K: Army Jawan Martyred in Encounter in Shopian; Three Terrorists Holed up
Srinagar, Aug 3: An Army jawan has been martyred and three others were injured in a gunbattle between security forces and terrorists in Zaipora village of Shopian district in south Kashmir on Thursday. As per the latest reports, three militants are said to be holed up in a building in the area, a media report claims. Currently, operation, which is currently underway, began after the security forces received intelligence inputs about the presence of the terrorists in the area.

In a similar incident, earlier on Wednesday evening, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Abu Dujana, a resident of Gilgit Baltistan, had a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head.
In a bid to maintain the law and order curbs were imposed in Srinagar following the incident, a police official was quoted as saying. Meanwhile, restrictions were imposed in seven police station areas of Srinagar — Khanyar, MR Gunj, Safakadal, Rainawari, Kralkhud, Nowhatta and Maisuma. The strike affected normal life across Kashmir with most shops, fuel stations and other business establishments remaining closed, a report said.
