Chain Singh has now won a total of 6 gold medals, three individual and three team event golds, a feat unmatched by any Indian marksman in the past. His second top medal came in the team event of the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions.
Chain Singh again whizzed past his senior teammate and Olympic Medalist Gagan Narang by shooting a total of 453.3 to win the gold. Gagan Narang, who took the silver scored 450.3.
Chain had earlier won the individual gold in the 50m rifle prone and the 10m air rifle event.
Chain Singh in an exclusive conversation with U4UVoice said, “Winning three individual gold medals is definitely a confidence booster but at the Olympic games, the competition would be stiff. To perform at the Olympics, I still need to improve my scores.”
India’s medal count in shooting rose to 21 gold, nine silver and eight bronze.
U4UVoice Team wishes Chain Singh all the best for the Rio Games this year. He is the first Olympian ever from our state of Jammu and Kashmir and his feat at the SAG games, an international event, is definitely a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir.
