Jammu : 120 missing mobile phones recovered


Jammu : The city police with the assistance of the cyber cell have recovered 120 missing mobile phones from different parts of Jammu division.

The number of missing mobile phones recovered so far from Jammu has gone up to 500 during the past year.

Talking to the reporters here today, Vinod Kumar, SP, city, north, and Vinay Kumar, SP, Police Component, said this was the fourth time when a major recovery of missing mobiles had taken place in Jammu district.

“Earlier, on June 30, at least 96 missing mobile phones were recovered and handed over to the original owners. This has been possible only because of the full cooperation of the cyber cell and telecom service providers,” the SP (north) said.


Asked whether the police had achieved any success in a major burglary incident at a mobile shop near the Nowabad police station, the police officer said investigation into the case was still in progress.

“We have collected all details from the shop owner with regard to the IMEI numbers of the mobile phones.

We are hopeful of solving the case at the earliest,” he said.On November 8, a group of burglars had struck at a mobile phone shop just a few metres from the Nowabad police station and decamped with phones worth several lakhs.
