Jammu: 2 miscreants held for selling Aadhar cards at Rs. 600 per head
JAMMU, Aug 3: Two persons have been arrested for making Aadhar card of the people on payment basis in Talab Tillo area.
As per police sources, an information was received by Talab Tillo police post that two persons are making Aadhar card of the people by taking Rs 600 per head from them in Talab Tillo area.
The matter was taken up with ADC, who lodged a formal complaint in this regard with Nowabad police station and both the persons have been taken into custody from a shop in Talab Tillo.
The arrested persons have been identified as Anand Ram Sahu, son of Jagdish Parshad Sahu, a resident of Chattisgarh, at present Indra Colony, Talab Tillo and Arun Pandita, son of Avtar Krishan Pandita of Sani Mohallah, Gole Panjpeer, Talab Tillo.
Police team also seized eye and finger scanners, laptop, camera, printer and other items from the shop.
The Aadhar cards prepared by the arrested persons are original and there might be some nexus between the private company preparing the Aadhar card free of cost on Government directions and the arrested persons, which is under investigation, sources added.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Talab Tillo police post SI Sumit Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Naresh Bhagat, Incharge SDPO West Verinder Singh and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
