We all have a dream or passion in our life. If you’re someone who has always wanted to follow your dream but due to some reasons were not able to follow it, then you should certainly meet Khulbushan Sharma AKA Ravaan of Jammu.
He might be a businessman but that hardly ever stopped him from following his dream and pasion. Sharma has been playing the role of Ravaan in Ramlila at Diwan Mandir for the last 18 years.
Like every struggling actor, he also started his career by playing minor roles in the Ramlila. “Before I started playing Ravaan’s role I used to play Dashrath’s role. My family supports me and the audience appreciates my acting. These two factors keep motivating and I always try to do justice to this magnificent role,”he said.
People often assume that he might be an aggressive and violent person in real life, but there is not even an iota of truth in it. Interestingly, he is an introvert and quiet person in his normal life.
“People tend to think that I must be short and hot tempered life Ravaan in my real life. But if truth is to be told, I am very calm and reserved person. I do not indulge in quarrels and squabbles. Much like Bhagwan Ram, I believe in spreading as much peace as possible,” he explained.
Sharma firmly believes that even though Ravaan was the villain in Ramayana, but there are so many positive qualities of Ravaan which can inspire and motivate you.”He was a scholar as he knew all the 4 vedas and Shastras by heart . Besides, he was Lord Shiva’s ardent follower, ” he added.
Although he does not get paid for this but it doesn’t matter to him and he says that the satisfaction which he gets after playing this role is inexpressible.
