Jammu Bandh takes a violent turn: 300 cops deployed to protect BJP Office, Section 144 imposed

JAMMU: With the disruption of the normal life in Jammu on the day one of 72 hours long Jammu Bandh  being called by ACC (AIIMS Coordination Comittee) in favour of building full fleged AIIMS hospital in Jammu, day two has taken the violent turn.
Clashes were reported at Dogra Chowk between the cops and the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) members. The BJP office in Kachi Chawni, which was attacked on Friday by the ACC activists, has been cordoned off from both the sides. More than  300 police personals has been deployed tfor the security off the office and DC Jammu Simrandeep Singh is monitoring the situation of Kachi Chawni area by himself.

A score of aggressive ACC activist tried to reach Kachi Chawni by taking the bylanes but police resorted them.
The District magistrate, Jammu has now imposed Section 144 within the Municipal Limits of Jammu in view of ongoing clashes among activists and cops. Section 144 is also applied to the peripheral tehsils of Jammu. Anyone violating shall be booked by Police under section 188 of RPC.
