Jammu Chamber Reacts to Budget Presented by Fin Min Haseeb Drabu, Here’s what they said
Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Sh. Rakesh Gupta conveys its heart-full thanks to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Madam Mehbooba Mufti and Hon’ble Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb A Drabu for the historic reliefs announced to almost all sectors of business and society. The Chamber feels that it is for the first time that long pending demands since decades have been addressed mostly.
The incentives of SGST to Industry, freight subsidy, Industrial Power Tariff to Hotels, Sharing of portion of interest for restructured accounts, one time waiver of soft loans to houseboat owners, amnesty upto VAT period, Power amnesty to Industries and Hotels, amnesty to Transport Sector in lieu of token tax, common facility centre for cricket Bat Industry, Budgetary provision for improving horticulture sector/ setting up of CA Stores, Toll tax exemption of essential commodities, abolition of two Toll posts, abolition of Toll tax on non-commercial vehicles and abolition of Toll on all fruits produced within the state are big relief to Trade, Industry and Transport.
The Chamber also conveys its satisfaction and thanks to the Hon’ble Finance Minister for taking care of accredited Journalists to be covered under Medclaim. Also the exercise to bring electricity, alcohol, real estate and petroleum under GST shall be a big relief for one and all.
The various provision to help out students, government employees, provision for disaster management and social schemes are land mark announcements. The Chamber feels satisfied over the announcements made in the current budget and Chamber shall continue to talk to the government as far as the unfulfilled demands are concerned.
