Jammu: After the Uri attack that took 18 lives, the security has been tightened in and around Jammu and Vasihno Devi.
All the vehicles coming from Kashmir are being thoroughly examined before allowing them to enter Jammu.
The security of Lakhanpur, Jammu-Pathankot highway and Jammu-Banihal Highway have been put on high alert since these areas are sensitive and highly susceptible to terrorists attacks.
Satwari, Kunjwani,Narwal Bypass and Nagrota have been kept under special vigil. Within the city, the security forces have been deployed at Bikram Chowk, Indira Chowk, Circular Road and Ambphalla.
“Adequate security arrangements have been made in Jammu”, said Sunil Gupta SSP Jammu.
Security has been extended at Mata Vaishno Devi and Shiv Khori also. The security has been kept on the high alert in the entire Katra town.
Shiv khori and Mata Vaishno Devi are also located on the same route. A large number of devotees come here every day. Therefore, the security has been increased in these areas. Night patrols have also been intensified. Also in between these two places, there are many other religious and tourist destinations.
