Jammu expresses anger against inability of Govt to impose beef ban, observes complete bandh
Jammu expressed it’s anger on Saturday by observing complete bandh against the beef party hosted in MLA hostel in Srinagar. The bandh was observed peacefully across the Jammu region and the response from people was overwhelming.
Majority of the vehicles remained off road, and shopkeepers downed shutters to protest against the sacrilegious act committed by Kashmir based politician. Locals said that they had extended support to the strike because religious sentiments of the entire community had been offended. Educational institutions, schools, and offices also remained closed as people preferred to support the bandh call.
Panther party activists led by Harshdev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, and Yashpal Kundal carried out a protest march against the activities of Engineer Rashid who organized a beef party. Harshdev Singh alleged that while police took action against them for protesting against beef party it took no cognizance of the criminal act of Rashid who violated law. He also alleged that two youth who wanted to hoist national flag at Lal Chowk were arrested but those moving with Pakistani flags and slogans were allowed to move freely.
Singh also accused the BJP of betraying the people of Jammu who had imposed their faith in the party hoping that discrimination against Jammu, and anti-India actions would be curbed. Protests were held across the Jammu province in which people demanded arrest of engineer Rashid for holding a beef party, and arrest of those involved with him.
