The final results chisel a sculpture of a hung state assembly in Jammu and Kashmir. Where we saw a heart scare of Omar almost losing it from Beerwah, shortly after he lost in Sonawar; we also saw many Heavy weights lose their way. Now the picture gets clearer with the following seats in the contesting parties’ kitties.

8:22 AM: BJP leading in Ramnagar of Udhampur district

The counting has begun and round one is yet to get over. PDP has maintained that they are confident of forming a government on their own.

BJP has maintained the same. However, the ground reality seems a bit different.

If our birdie is to be believed, talks have happened on 2 different dates, both in winter Capital and National capital.

8:10 AM: Good Morning Folks!

Are you up and looking for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2014 : Results on the D-Day of the BIGGEST MONTH that has shown the Dance of Democracy to our state of Jammu and Kashmir?

These elections have seen record polling in all phases and the BJP has shone as in its glory days of Praja Parishad and Jan Sangh in Jammu. 2008 saw a polarised version of elections where the BJP won 11 seats. But this time there has been no such factionalism and BJP is touted to be number two easily by most of the exit polls.

What would be nice to see however is a government which is not based on coalition! If PDP forms a government on its own good, and if BJP forms it on its own, nothing like it because the support from Centre would come unhindered.

We just have to wait and watch as Jammu and Kashmir ushers into this new era of democracy where the regional parties have been shaken to a great extent. Like it or not, BJP will be a part of this govt., whether as a partner or as opposition, BJP has come a long, long way.

What remains to be seen however is if BJP’s star campaigner, PM Modi will prove the exit polls right or will the local parties prove too much for the national Pundits to understand yet again.

All the noise will die down today in the evening and let us all hope the party which will work for the betterment of the state earnestly wins.
