Jammu-Kashmir National Highway reopens w.e.f. 16th,September


The National Highway which was damaged and blocked at Gangroo and Higni(Ramsoo) due to recent unprecedented flood/landslides is expected to be restored for one way traffic today i.e. 16th September, 2014.Traffic is strictly to be one way keeping in view the prevailing situation in the valley and smooth flow of traffin on the national highway, especially at Gangroo and Higni(Ramsoo).Ony relief and essential carrying vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Jammu to Srinagar on first 3 days i.e. 16th – 18th, September,2014. No extra heavy vehicles carrying non essential commodities shall ply till the situation gets better. However, LMV’s shall be allowed to ply from Jammu and Srinagar through Kishtwar-Shintop road without any restriction during this period. All the feild offices/officers have been briefed accordingly so as to help traffic police deployment on NHW to ensure smooth and orderly traffic.
