Jammu on high alert on Dussehra day

Jammu: Security forces across the city have been put on high alert to ensure a peaceful Dussehra. Around 1,000 police jawans are deployed at Parade Ground and Dussehra Ground (Gandhi Nagar).

Keeping in mind the traditional celebration of Dussehra festival  , the city traffic department has  issued guidelines about traffic diversions in the city.

Shobha Yatra of Lord Rama  organised by Raghunath Temple will start at 4 pm from Raghunath Bazaar. The security of the entire route from Diwan Mandir to Parade Ground via  Purani Mandi, Moti Bazaar ,Raj Tilak Road, Shalamar and City Chowk has been increased.

In view of tense relation between India- Pakistan , the police is being extra cautious and vigilant.  Each and every person reaching Parade Ground and Dussehra Ground will be frisked carefully.

“Maximum deployment of police personnel has been made. All crowded markets had been put under a thick security blanket,” said SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta.
