Jammu: PDD Deptt. JE caught red handed while accepting bribe
Jammu: The sleuths of State Vigilance Organisation on Saturday caught a Junior Engineer red- handed while demanding and accepting a bribe from a consumer in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district.
”A case has been registered by the State Vigilance Organisation against one Ved Prakash, resident of Kanhal, Bishnah, JE of PDD Department for demanding and accepting bribe amounting to the tune of Rs 5000,’’ official sources here said.
They said that a complaint was lodged by one Kuldeep Chand, who approached the Vigilance Team wherein it was mentioned that last year he applied before two three departments for obtaining of licence, for flour grinding machine, who told him to deposit the security with PDD Department which he deposited and also obtained a receipt.
After this the aforementioned JE demanded Rs 20,000 for providing electric connection, from the complainant and directed him to pay an amount of Rs 5000 in advance.
”On the complaint registered, Vigilance Team laid a successful trap and the accused JE was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe,’’ said the spokesman.
