Jammu: People flaunt 2000 rupee notes in style

The new Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 notes are here! There are long lines outside banks, with people having starting queueing up from as early as 7 in the morning. And what’s to follow with something new coming in – selfies, of course!

Being the first ones to get their hands around the 2000 rupee notes, this group of people seemed ecstatic. “Ït feels great to hold the first 2000 rupee note”, said Sham Sharan. On asking weather they are finding any difficulty, they said, “it’s slightly troublesome as we have been waiting since morning, but we support PM Modi’s decision whole-heartedly.” Some were also seen taking selfies on the spot.

So, understandably, the excitement over banks finally (24 hours can seem very long some times) releasing new notes was great, and what better way to commemorate the occasion than with a selfie. Within minutes of the banks opening, people started sharing pictures of the new batch of Rs 2,000 notes, and of course, selfies with them. People’s snaps with the pink-coloured crisp notes are already going viral on the Internet.
