Jammu Railway station popularly known as Jammu tawi Railway station, recently got a new makeover with escalators installed, as a part of smart city project.

The work for installation had been going on since past fifteen days. The work had to be stalled in between due to unavailability of crane. Though installation of the paraphernalia caused commotion for some days with passengers finding a tough time in reaching the respective platforms, it will be worth in the end. Firozpur DRM lead the task of technical aspects of installation of the escalator and he was physically preset for all these days to ensure all aspects of security and proper installation.

Though, the first phase is done and dusted with, the escalator is yet to become functional. But, soon the passangers and pilgrims will be able to make use of this facility.
