Jammu reacts over hinting of shelving of River Tawi lake project
Jammu, May 15: After the statement of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed about the shelving of the artificial lake project at River Tawi a strong reaction was seen among the people of Jammu region. The Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed made this statement while having his first informal interaction with the media persons in the winter capital at his official residence. He said that the artificial lake in Jammu in Jammu is not feasible as the river brings a lot of silt with it. He also said that economically and technically it is not feasible. He said that the instead of it we will get landscaping of the banks of river Tawi so that the people will sit in the gardens there.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Hotels Association said that this is a mockery with the people of the region. He said that an inquiry will be conducted as who approve this project. For making Jammu an important tourist destination this project will be very helpful. This work on the porject was started during the previous NC-Congress government.
