In the press conference held by ACC after Lal Singh made the announcement on AIIMS today, ACC said that there was a communication between the Central Health Ministry and the Ministry of Health, Jammu. 200 acres of land for AIIMS has to be identified for both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
“We have verified with the authorities and the minimum land requirement for AIIMS is of 200 acres,” said ACC in the conference held. However, the members said that the demand was of full fledged AIIMS for Jammu and a separate budget of Rs. 1500 crores but as the parliament is in session the bandh call will be suspended temporarily. The protest shall however continue. The AIIMS CC also said that the public awareness campaign will also continue and we will seek clarification from the central government for the directorate on AIIMS.
ACC said, “We are not specifying the time of asking the government further and if details are not furnished by the government, we will call for an indefinite strike.”
