|Jammu, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday booked Advocate Devender Singh Behal after his video showing him raising ‘anti-national slogans’ went viral on social networking sites and groups.
Police sources said that a case under FIR 196/17 under sections 120-B, 3/18 Unlawful Activities Act and 66 IT Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and he has been arrested in this connection.
Devender Singh Behal son of Attar Singh resident of Shopping Complex, Bakshi Nagar was seen raising anti-national slogans at a public meeting.
In this video, Behal was seen addressing a public meeting and accusing central government for NIA raids.
Behail while addressing the gathering says, ” NIA tortured me for 46-days just to pressurize me.”
He is seen appealing the people to stand with “their leader” (Hurriyat hawk) Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Pertinently, Jammu based advocate Behal’s house-cum-office was raided by sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on July 30 this year. He was questioned and booked for his role in the terror funding.
NIA also raided his parental house in Nowshera the next day as Behal was termed as the close-aide and spokesperson of Geelani in Kashmir.
Pertinently, on Oct 22, an FIR was registered against Devender Singh at Police Station Awantipora under 120 -B (Anti-National sloganeering), 12 and 18 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and 66B of Information Technology Act.
